Smoke on the Mountain
BOOK BY CONNIE RAY, CONCEIVED BY ALAN BAILEY
MUSICAL ARRANGEMENTS BY MIKE CRAVER & MARK HARDWICK
DIRECTED BY KIM MASON
JULY 16, 17, 18, & 19 —2020

Smoke on the Mountain tells the story of a Saturday Night Gospel Sing at a country church in North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains in 1938. Pastor Oglethorpe, the young and enthusiastic minister of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, has enlisted the Sanders Family in his efforts to bring his tiny congregation into “the modern world.” Though they try to appear perfect in the eyes of a congregation who wants to be inspired by their songs, one thing after another goes awry and they reveal their true, and hilariously imperfect, natures. By the evening’s end, the Sanders Family has endeared themselves to us by revealing their weaknesses and allowing us to share in their triumphs. Smoke on the Mountain is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Theatricals Company.

Dashing through the Snow
BY JESSIE JONES, NICHOLAS HOPE, & JAMES WOOTEN
DIRECTED BY KATHRYN WOOD
DEC 3, 4, 5, & 6 —2020

This outrageously funny comedy by your favorite playwrights, is just in time for the Holidays—it's four days before Christmas in the tiny town of Tinsel, Texas, and a colorful parade of eccentric guests arrive at the Snowflake Inn and deck the halls with holiday hilarity. A spur-of-the-moment Christmas Eve wedding leads to a laugh-'til-your-sides-ache climax. You'll swear this Jones Hope Wooten Christmas comedy is more fun than a joyride in a one-horse open sleigh! Dashing through the Snow is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
